Khary Penebaker is a keynote speaker, business executive, and nationally recognized advocate for gun violence prevention. His mother, Joyce, died by suicide with a firearm when Khary was 20 months old. That loss shaped his life and drives his work advocating for safer communities.

Penebaker has spoken at two Democratic National Conventions (2016 and 2020), the March for Our Lives rally in Milwaukee, and dozens of corporate, advocacy, and university events nationwide. His topics range from gun violence prevention and survivor advocacy to resilient leadership and scaling high-performing teams.

In business, Penebaker founded Penebaker Enterprises, growing the commercial roofing company from $1.5 million to $15 million in revenue with 50 employees. He later scaled Roofed Right America to over $35 million with 180 employees across five states. He currently serves as Regional General Manager at Great Day Improvements, overseeing four markets in the Upper Midwest.

Penebaker served as DNC Representative for Wisconsin (2017-2023), Board President of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin C4 (2021-2024), and as an Everytown for Gun Safety Wisconsin Fellow. He lives in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
